- the default .profile for [k]sh users has the following line:
- eval ` tset -s -Q -m ':?hp' `

- which always asks me "TERM = (hp)" (even if i'm on the console
- or at an (obvious) true VT terminal)

- isn't it supposed to be smart enough to go look in the termcap or
- terminfo file to try to figure it out and then only ask if it has
- a problem

- under irix 4.0.1 the standard .profile has this:
- eval `tset -s -Q`

- and it always seems to figure out who you are

- its not as simple as removing the -m option
