  14. the default .profile for [k]sh users has the following line:
  15.     eval ` tset -s -Q -m ':?hp' `
  16.  
  17. which always asks me "TERM = (hp)" (even if i'm on the console
  18. or at an (obvious) true VT terminal)

  20. isn't it supposed to be smart enough to go look in the termcap or
  21. terminfo file to try to figure it out and then only ask if it has
  22. a problem

  24. under irix 4.0.1 the standard .profile has this:
  25. eval `tset -s -Q`

  27. and it always seems to figure out who you are

  29. its not as simple as removing the -m option
