- The HP 48SX can access (or address) only 128K per port.
- It can, however, HOLD more.

- TDS (Tripod Data Systems) makes a 256K card and a 512K card.
- These cards have 128K "banks" and can be switched from one
- bank to another using software provided with them.
- They can only use one bank at a time. The bankswitching
- is like changing cards, except that the switching is done
- with software.

- Also, you can not switch banks when one of the banks is
- merged with the builtin RAM.

- Some users like to put a 128K RAM card in one port for
- mearged memory and a larger bankswitching card in the
- other port to hold their libraries and backups.
