- I have some DEC Scholar DF224 Modems which DEC has donated to a local
- school. Some of them work normally... they auto-dial with the control
- sequence ^A^BT<phone-number>^M as expected. Others return 'Ready'
- upon ^A^B and do not go off-hook, but can still be used if I manually
- dial with a desk-telephone. I have no documentation on these modems.
-
- Can someone tell me if the non-dialing modems are in some kind of
- 'maintenance mode' or other state, and how to return them to normal
- operation? Or are they just malfunctioning?
-
- The modems which return 'Ready' display stored phone numbers if I type
- ^A^B<any-letter-from-A-to-O>.
-
- Many thanks.
