  13. I have some DEC Scholar DF224 Modems which DEC has donated to a local
  14. school.  Some of them work normally... they auto-dial with the control
  15. sequence ^A^BT<phone-number>^M as expected.  Others return 'Ready'
  16. upon ^A^B and do not go off-hook, but can still be used if I manually
  17. dial with a desk-telephone.  I have no documentation on these modems.

  19. Can someone tell me if the non-dialing modems are in some kind of
  20. 'maintenance mode' or other state, and how to return them to normal
  21. operation?  Or are they just malfunctioning?

  23. The modems which return 'Ready' display stored phone numbers if I type
  24. ^A^B<any-letter-from-A-to-O>.
