  14. I have a requirement to have users access VAXes across a large TCP/IP backbone.
  15. The users need to be using DECNET as a transport because of application
  16. constraints imposed by the software developer.  The question I have is how or
  17. what products can be used to allow either encapsulation or translation of the
  18. DECNET protocol going into the TCP/IP backbone and reemerging on the other end
  19. and being changed back to DECNET.  The backbone has been known to suffer
  20. congestion on ocasion which may also impact timers, etc.
