- Hi netters,
-
- I asked that question already here on the net - but
- just before Christmas and I am afraid that due to Christmas Holidays
- many people did not see it.
- I got one answer (Thank you Andi!) stating it CAN'T work on a 5830
- (see details below), but a call to our distributor resulted in the statement
- IT SHOULD! So the situation is not yet clear.
- So if anybody can help - please mail me. And now the problem:
- -----------------------------------------------------------------
- We are running a DECsystem 5830 under ULTRIX 4.0
- We added a VAXBI SCSI Host adapter (CBI-1000 TM) and followed
- the instructions in the manual for editing our system configuration file.
- Here are the relevant parts:
-
- adapter vaxbi14 at nexus?
- adapter xmi0 at nexus?
- controller aie0 at vaxbi14 node6
- [...]
- controller kdb1 at vaxbi14 node4
- [...]
- controller uq5 at kdb1 vector uqintr
- controller klesib0 at vaxbi14 node9
- [...]
- controller uq20 at klesib0 vector uqintr
- [...]
- controller uba0 at vaxbi14 node10
- controller klesiu0 at uba0 csr 0174500 vector uqintr
- controller uda0 at uba0 csr 0172150 vector uqintr
- controller uq0 at klesiu0
- controller uq1 at uda0
- disk ra8 at uq1 drive 1
- device xna0 at vaxbi14 node12 vector xnaintr
-
- (at the moment drive 0 on the new SCSI is not configured, but
- we are sure that this is not the problem, which seems to occure earlier!).
- When building a new kernel, it says:
-
- uba0 at vaxbie node a NOT SUPPORTED
-
- This message comes from the bua.o (!) in the binary distribution
- (/sys/MIPS/BINARY/ ).
-
- Can anybody suggest what we did wrong?
- Is anybody out there who has such a hostadapter on a DECsystem 58??
- working?
-
- Please answer by mail!
