  23. SCU is being ported to EP/IX (the CDC variant of Unix).
  24. The port is written in C, so it should be possible to
  25. port it to other Unix platforms. The main obstacle seems
  26. to be that CDC refuses to do such ports or to provide the
  27. source code to customers. I don't quite get the rationale
  28. behind it; they won't be selling more CD4000 just because
  29. SCU is on it but they chase away potential SCU users from
  30. EP/IX if SCU is not an open systems product.

  32. I have been arguing on VIM/ECODU and in this group for
  33. quite some time. Perhaps it helps if more people start
  34. pestering.
