  27. No problem.  There are about 1/2 a dozen TCP/IP "Printer Adapters" on
  28. the market that allow any printer to plug into parallel and serial
  29. ports on them.  They also provide software for the host that acts just
  30. like "cat" except it sends the data across the network instead of out
  31. a port.

  33. I recently completed an investigation of these products and decided on
  34. the Microplex brand.  They work extremely well on our LAN.  We have
  35. 6386/33Es running SVR4, and 3B2s running SVR3.  Our printers are HP III
  36. and IIISi's.

  38. BTW, I looked at those LAN DIRECT cards and discovered the same thing.
  39. The trick is the software.
