- I started a project like this about a year ago. I got a good base for it
- working fairly well, although I've only put together three effects for it so
- far. It has some little trimmings other than a screen saver also, like screen
- capture and 50/60Hz switcher, etc.
-
- I stopped working on it after a while for a few reasons: I hit some apparent
- brick walls in trying to make it compatible with other interrupts on the
- system; CodeHead added Extend-O-Save to Warp 9; my available time often
- shrinks to nil (I'm a student); I was going to release it as shareware, and
- I no longer believe that would be worthwhile.
-
- Despite these reasons, it's possible I'll dredge the thing back up and resume
- work, or at least do something with it. Here's some ideas of what I could do,
- and why I don't want to :-)
-
- 1) Start right back from where I was and get it 'marketable'.
- Frankly, I don't have much enthusiasm for this project anymore, and I have
- some other stuff in mind that would be more useful and satisfying.
-
- 2) Release what I have now.
- It's a little buggy (because of interrupt conflicts), and omni-resolution
- capability still needs work. It just doesn't feel finished.
-
- 3) Give the source to someone to take over.
- Even though I don't feel much like working on it anymore, I also don't
- want to give it up to someone else.
-
- 4) Forget the whole thing.
- At this point, that looks like the best alternative. But, there does seem
- to be a little interest out there.
-
-
- So, if anyone cares, send me your ideas and arguments, and we'll see what
- happens. I'll need a lot of convincing, because I don't really want to do
- this very much :-).

-
- P. S. I hope that last paragraph doesn't sound like something Ross Perot
- might say :-)
