- Hi, my external floppy drive SF314 stopped working 2 days ago.
- This was what happned.
- I tried to format a new HD disk into 720K from the desktop. It went fine
- until the pyrosave scrren saver come out and the computer crash with
- 2 bombs (or maybe 3, I don;t remember). Then I rebooted the
- computer but this time the disk can't read any of my disk anymore.
- The desktop still come out after a while but when I tried to format
- any disk, the drive will try to write but never proceed further than
- then 1st sector (the bar doesn't move on the scrreen). So, I clean
- the drive with a floppy drive cleaner (disk type) and try to read again
- but it never does anymore and what I get was the normal mesasage saying
- "please use the right kind of floppy or make sure the hard drive is connected
- properly...."
-
- So, can someone tell me if the drive is dead?
- I don';t have another drive to test if this is because of the compuyter
- itself. It's a 520ST so it doesn't have an internal drive.
- If the drive is dead, where can I get a replacement drive?
- Can I used any drive for PC to put it into the case?
-
- Thanks
