  13. Hi, my external floppy drive SF314 stopped working 2 days ago.
  14. This was what happned. 
  15. I tried to format a new HD disk into 720K from the desktop. It went fine
  16. until the pyrosave scrren saver come out and the computer crash with
  17. 2 bombs (or maybe 3, I don;t remember). Then I rebooted the
  18. computer but this time the disk can't read any of my disk anymore.
  19. The desktop still come out after a while but when I tried to format
  20. any disk, the drive will try to write but never proceed further than
  21. then 1st sector (the bar doesn't move on the scrreen). So, I clean
  22. the drive with a floppy drive cleaner (disk type) and try to read again
  23. but it never does anymore and what I get was the normal mesasage saying
  24. "please use the right kind of floppy or make sure the hard drive is connected
  25. properly...."

  27. So, can someone tell me if the drive is dead?
  28. I don';t have another drive to test if this is because of the compuyter
  29. itself. It's a 520ST so it doesn't have an internal drive.
  30. If the drive is dead, where can I get a replacement drive?
  31. Can I used any drive for PC to put it into the case?
