- I've been away for a few weeks, so this is my first chance to respond to all
- this....
-
- I run Spectre GCR 3.0 on a TT with TOS 3.05.
-
- The 3.0 manual states that it works on a high-rez _Atari_ monitor, but I've
- never seen it done.
-
- Spectre does not recognize the internal or external SCSI port on the TT.
- This is stated somewhere in a manual or in one of the README files. I
- have my internal hard drive hooked up to the external ASCI port using an
- ICD Mico host adapter, with the ribbon cable running through the case (I'm
- sure I'm violating all kinds of FCC rules--my TV goes nuts whenever my hard
- drive is accessed). I got the connections from the ribbon cable to the D-
- connector from ICD. I generally have no problems with the setup, and I'm
- using the disk for both Atari and Mac files.
-
- I can read/write 800K Mac disks just fine. But in order to do this I have
- to have a floppy in the drive when I turn the computer on, then remove it
- before launching Spectre. Otherwise it eats floppies for breakfast. And
- light-off programs won't work. I can format/read/write on either Spectre
- or a real Mac, though formats on real Macs tend to be somewhat more reliable.
-
- I use the Transverter program that came with Spectre to move file Atari<-->
- Mac all the time, with either floppy or hard drive. The only thing is that
- the Mac disk/partition must be in MHF (or whatever--the older one) format.
-
- I hope this helps.
