- Well, I've spent a while sloshing through 200+ posts to comp.sys.atari.st
- over the weekend. Rather than reply to each and every posting with which
- I have a minor disagreement, I thought I'd just write one note. You
- needn't respond unless you really feel the urge.
-
- To Bob R. - I find your announcement of a $15 OS/2 CD-ROM interesting.
- Unfortunately, I do not have a CD-ROM drive connected to my Mega ST, so
- I was wondering if you could try using it on YOUR CD-ROM under PC Ditto
- and let me know how it works out. Heck, I might even save up some money
- for a new CD-ROM if your report is glowing. It's helpful hints like
- these that make your postings to this newsgroup such interesting reading.
-
- To Dave B. - Chill out. You're becoming positively rabid in your posts
- to well-meaning Atari ST users. I did find your posting on ST Picture
- Formats a refreshing change from the usual "you suck eggs" style that has
- become a favorite of yours. Remember, all the good things you've done for
- Atari ST users won't mean a thing when your gone; you'll be remembered as
- "That guy who hated anyone who liked the Atari ST".
-
- As for those psychopaths out there who think that a few deaths are in
- order for the Tramiel family (you know who you are), get a life. When
- you get so obsessed by inanimate electronics products that you'd even
- jokingly wish doom and disaster on the people who own the company that
- produces those products, you need to reassess your value system. Or,
- perhaps, you need to engage in some consensual sexual activities. Maybe
- both.
-
- For the rest of you out there -- do you read magazines? Newspapers? Listen
- to the radio? Belong to an ST-oriented user group? Are you interested in
- increasing the amount of useful information which passes through this
- newsgroup? Consider the self-appointed job of Atari factfinder (not a
- registered trademark, yet). When you see new software announced, let us
- know about it here. When you hear something of interest (and I *don't*
- mean stock quotes) about the ST, write about it. If you've discovered the
- perfect program to do X, write about it. One of the hardest jobs I've had
- in our user group was that of newsletter editor. Too many people sit back
- an wait for the other person to write about "How I accomplished ..." You
- can make this a more useful place, and you don't have to be too technical
- (save technical stuff for postings in comp.sys.atari.st.tech).
-
- You can regain a measure of control of this newsgroup, or you can let it
- become a source of personal pleasure for folks like Chris Mauritz, who don't
- even OWN an ST anymore; they just leave messages for the pure joy in watching
- you squirm.
