  17. They're usually artifacts of the video rate, so that the processor can
  18. remain synchronised with the video hardware.

  20. Like the good ol'mac plus, where at the end of every scan line there's an
  21. interrupt, and the processor has to scoot off and stuff the next 512 bits of
  22. video data into a shift register... If the CPU is out of whack, things could
  23. get a bit messy...
