  19. I guess you mean the SLM804. It is also a 300 dpi dumb page printer.
  20. It is connected to the dma bus via a separate controller (the SLMC804).
  21. It prints about 8 pages per minute.

  23. Alas it does not understand postscript or PCL; for most programs
  24. you need some kind of emulator (Diablo 630 emulator is standard,
  25. FX80 emulator is available by DMC), other programs (Calamus for example)
  26. talk directly to the printer. Interfacing the printer yourself
  27. requires knowledge of the dma protocol.

  29. Compared to other printers it is said to be fast for bitmaps.
  30. Calamus prints really fast on it. I guess this is due to the fact
  31. that other printers are connected to the printer port.

  33. As far as I know the SLM804 is not made anymore; the SLM605 is its
  34. successor.
