  20. Really, Derek's been going pretty light on the bitching lately.  Now
  21. you'll just get him going again (and rightly so).

  23. Daniel has done a lot for this group, and I hardly see his defense of
  24. Darek here as some kind of sell-out.  Daniel would do us all a favor to
  25. ignore your request that he take a hike.

  27. Darek has a PC.  He works for Microsoft.  He writes PC software about
  28. 16 hours a day, I'd imagine.  None of these things, however, changes the
  29. fact that he's written some of the best-selling ST software ever made.
  30. I think it's safe to say that he knows what he's talking about when it
  31. comes to technical matters regarding both the ST and the PC, despite
  32. his obvious bias towards PC (against ST's?).

  39. Darek has posted some inciteful stuff in the past, but the message you
  40. quoted from -- even if it had been public, which it wasn't -- was
  41. hardly flame bait.  Contentious, yes.  Out of order?  No.  (IMHO)

  43. Posting private email, BTW, is arguably illegal in many countries,
  44. since the paper analogue -- publishing a private letter from someone
  45. in a magazine, newspaper, etc. without their permission -- is illegal.

  47. We went through this a few years ago.  You could ask in misc.legal for
  48. a more definitive answer, but at the very least posting private email
  49. is seriously frowned upon.
