  12. Hi.  I too, have just started experimenting with the MiNT distribution
  13. kit, and am experiencing some problems that I hope someone can help me
  14. with.

  16. The installation requires that a Minix partition be set up.  For ease,
  17. I've decided to use my D:\ partition.  The installation first puts MiNT
  18. and Minix (via the file minix.xfs) on to the boot partition, and then
  19. has the user reboot.  At this point, it appears it tries to initialize
  20. the floppy drive as a Minix partition.  Thereafter, any time I reboot
  21. with an unprotected floppy in the A: drive, when minix.xfs is run, the
  22. floppy is corrupted.  I can't tell if D: has been changed to a Minix
  23. partition or not.

  25. So, my questions are,
  26.     1) Does anyone know of any problems with the distribution kit
  27. install?
  28.     2) Is there a special program I should be using to set up a
  29. Minix partition?
  30.     3) Is there a method of testing a partition, to see if it is
  31. Minix?
  32.     4) Is there something specific I have to do to minix.xfs, to
  33. stop it from blasting my floppy drive?
