- Hi. I too, have just started experimenting with the MiNT distribution
- kit, and am experiencing some problems that I hope someone can help me
- with.
-
- The installation requires that a Minix partition be set up. For ease,
- I've decided to use my D:\ partition. The installation first puts MiNT
- and Minix (via the file minix.xfs) on to the boot partition, and then
- has the user reboot. At this point, it appears it tries to initialize
- the floppy drive as a Minix partition. Thereafter, any time I reboot
- with an unprotected floppy in the A: drive, when minix.xfs is run, the
- floppy is corrupted. I can't tell if D: has been changed to a Minix
- partition or not.
-
- So, my questions are,
- 1) Does anyone know of any problems with the distribution kit
- install?
- 2) Is there a special program I should be using to set up a
- Minix partition?
- 3) Is there a method of testing a partition, to see if it is
- Minix?
- 4) Is there something specific I have to do to minix.xfs, to
- stop it from blasting my floppy drive?
-
- Any help anyone can give would be great.
-
- Thanks,
-
- Mike.
