  14.  I've been thinking of putting an Atari XL computer in my car with a
  15. portable TV (LCD colour display type) installed on the dashboard.

  17.  With this equipment in the car it would be possible to have many
  18. important messages such as "low on fuel", "door not properly closed",
  19. "fasten seat belts" etc available with flashy graphics. Not that this
  20. would make it any better, replacing the car's own simple but reliable
  21. indicators wouldn't improve anything, but a computer in the car would
  22. be pretty cool.

  24.  I believe that the XL computer only needs a +5V power source, and
  25. I could use an 8 KB EPROM for the software (written in assembler).

  27.  Has anyone tried this or a similar project? I've heard that computers
  28. tend to lock up quite often when used in cars, because of bad glitches
  29. in the power source. (If supplied with an adapter from the car battery
  30. voltage.)

  32.  Btw, there's a 12V battery in this car, I assume a 12V-to-5V adapter
  33. is relatively cheap.
