- Joe: Saw your post requesting info on how we access the Inet,
- and am responding with my method.
- I am not currently employed by anyone with Inet access, nor am I
- a student enrolled in a college with Inet hooks. I don't have an
- account where I can Freq or directly hook into the system.
- I do have a local BBS (User-to-User at 214 492-6565 or 214
- 492-5695) that reads the csa2, the binary a2 stuff, and another a2
- area which strangely never has any messages. I can also send
- netmail from here. Hopefully, this will come straight to you. Here
- is general info from U2U.
- NB: This is not intended as advertising, just info... General

- added more over the holidays,9 Online Nodes as if they needed it!)

- There are currently 550+ BBS listing in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area,
- many with multiple lines. There is one ProLine site which is
- supposed to be hooked up, but is a LD call, and requires a fee, so I
- have not investigated that site yet. User-to-User does FIDO,
- Inet/UseNet, RIME and some others. The conference list take 4-5
- screens...and to add injury to insult, does color ANSI and take
- forever of your 30 minutes daily allowance to throw up these
- screens. You have to read these, as they are the comercial messages
- imploring you to "join" and gain access to the other seven lines.
- I use a IIgs, ProTerm 3.0, and a Supra 2400 out the modem port.
- It seems bulletproof, especially since installing the PT3 fixes.
- I also run a Warp 6 BBS on a companion //e, with a dedicated
- line. It is heavily advertised locally as a //e BBS (interest and
- help) but of the 83 users, only 4-5 have A2's in any form. The Mac
- guys see "Apple //" and log on once or twice, and afterwards, use
- the e-mail, since access is generally no problem at KayJay's. There
- is a lot of interest in a CyberForm that I set up for a local youth.
- I'm not real sure what goes on there, as I let Kid-E run it. We
- are a alias BBS, at 214 350-1883.
- I am considering ProLine for the future, but I am waiting until
- the dust settles on some new wares I've seen over on the A2 (FIDO)
- echo, and here.
- I hope this info is useful to you, coming from a veteran. I've
- been modeming for seven years, but am totally awed by the Inet.
- Maybe if I just had full access...? KJ
-
- PS. I've enjoyed your stuff in A+/InCider. Wish there was MORE A2
- info to be shared. Keep after them.

- I hope this gets out. Let me know.... KayJay
- (KayJay's W6 BBS ][4 hours. 214 350-1883) Get some "NORV"
- today.
