- I believe an error '0911' means system cannot sync (?) because of an
- over-heat (common with the ROM 01 cpu). Your powersupply is heating things
- up to much, and you probably have to many cards installed blocking airflow.
-
- Solution? Buy yourself a cooling fan! :) Two common ones are the
- Kensington System Saver and the AE Conserver (orginally from MDIdeas). I think
- both products have been recently discontinued, but you can still order back
- stock from a few companies. Not only do theses fans keep your GS's inwards
- completely cool, but also offer front mounted switches that control monitor,
- cpu power, printer, and other devices, and surge-supression as well. Not to
- mention blend in with your IIgs's color and design! I'd recommend a Kensington
- fan from other users' reports of the AE/MDIdeas Conserver.
-
- I ordered a System Saver IIgs for $39.99, from Accessories Warehouse in
- New York. The price may have dropped since, as I've seen it advertised for
- less. In fact, Joe Kohn reported in his Grapevine column about some person
- selling Kensington's clearance on System Savers for a mere $15 US + $5 shipping!
- (Unfortunately I heard they all sold out in less than 2-3 days of the article's
- printing...).
-
- Try the following for a the System Saver:
-
- Accessories Warehouse, 1-800-477-5530 ($39.99, last checked)
- Quality Computers, 1-800-443-6697 ($29.99)
- Roger Coats, 1-800-438-2883 (? not sure if they still carry it)
-
- Btw, if your interested, I have a brand-new (in box) System Saver. I was
- thinking of keeping it for a back-up, but I may sell it....
