- Try disabling as many escape and flow control characters as you can. I log
- in to cco through a Xyplex box and I have to throw it into transparent mode
- and disable the escape character in order to get a clean 8-bit connection.
- If I don't, only kermit downloads will work.

- Wouldn't it be nice if we had a transfer protocol that didn't use any control
- characters and encoded binary data like binscii does? It'd be slower, but with
- high speed modems and transparent compression and all that, you could probably
- get away with it. Hmmm...
