- Here's an idea I've been mulling over lately and since I'm
- not an advanced programmer I could not do this myself nor do
- I even know if it is feasible.
-
- Here it goes:
-
- I have an accelerator on my GS and for certain games it would
- be nice if the computer would "automatically" slow down to the
- desired speed and when the game is finished the computer could
- "resume" normal speed. So, I was thinking along the lines of a
- file which you could double click on and it would do the following:
-
- 1. Slow down your accelerator to a set speed.
- 2. Launch your program.
- (perhaps the icon which you double click on could be a "parameter"
- file for some sort of mini-launcher application)
- 3. After exiting your "game program" return the system speed to the
- speed it was at prior to launching your program.
-
- The parameter file could contain:
- - the speed to run the application at.
- - the pathname of the application to launch
- - the icon to use to represent the file
- (so it would still look like your "game's" icon)
- - probably alot more!
-
- In fact, if I haven't completely missed the boat here ( I'm sure I
- will be told if I have! :) ) this could perhaps be the making of a
- crude alias file for the IIgs. ...well maybe I'm pushing it here.
-
- Anyway, what do you think?
