- If you intend to but haven't yet responded to my earlier post, here's some
- more info:
-
- I am now convinced the problem lies with the AE memory test not being
- compatible with ROM 03. I had my son remove the memory card and try the
- test and it failed in the same manner. However, I also had him try the
- Appleworks GS memory test and it works fine with the memory card removed
- but fails with the card installed. For this one I have two possible
- answers. First, that memory test is incompatible with the memory card
- itself. Second, the fact that the memory card is only equipped with 512k
- instead of fully populated with 1.5Meg could be causing the problem. Note,
- I previously checked that card in the same 512k configuration on a ROM 01
- machine and everything was hunky dory (using the AE memory test but not
- AWGS).
-
- By the way, the memory card he has is an original GS-RAM (not GS-RAM II and
- not GS-RAM Plus). I haven't checked with AE Tech Support yet regarding the
- compatibility of that card with ROM 03. Anyone have their 900 number
- handy?
