- As others have said, Eric, it is easy to fix the 0911 problem with a fan,
- or some sort of cooling strategy. I recall when the first internal hard
- drives came out, being demo'd at AppleFest. It was interesting to see all
- the vendors showing off their internal drives, I thought . . . then I got
- mine home and found out that unless you have a good fan on it the system
- gets hot enough to fry eggs!! All those vendors were keeping the lids off
- their GS's in order to keep them from crashing every five minutes, not to
- show them off to us poor suckers.

- If you can't get a Kensington System Saver (The Conservor has its fan in a
- not-particularly useful spot), you can either run with the hood up (messy),
- or do what I did: I hacked a neat square hole in the top, positioned right
- over the ID's fan, and looked for a nice grid to place over it. Large mesh
- screen, or something like the fan-guards that you see on muffin fans, just
- to keep curious fingers out of there. Since I added this vent hole, my one
- system that has the internal drive never heats up excessively.
