  14. I am having problems getting "lint" working on the most fundamental
  15. of C programs, hello world.  Needless to say, this is very 
  16. disturbing to me, as lint is one of my new years resolutions.

  18. The error that I am getting is this:

  20. $ lint hello.c
  21. stdio.h(108): syntax error
  22. stdio.h(109):
  23.         **** cannot recover from this error ****
  24.  
  25. Well, something is wrong.  It could be me, since I'm fairly ignorant
  26. about lint, or it could be the way that the compiler or libraries were
  27. installed.  If you have any suggestions, please send them to me at
  28.

  31. and I'll try them out.  If anything works, I'll post the correct solution to
  32. the net.
