- Sorry, not for you. But indirectly, yes, also for you: They make production
- cheaper, in that we only have one version of the physical keyboard for all
- countries and not two different ones. So your wallet gets positively affected.

- I fear not, because the connection to the motherboard is very different,
- you have more LEDs there. Most important, the keyboard controller sits in
- the keyboard of the A500 (thus lesser connection lines to the motherboard),
- but on the motherboard of the A1200 (thus more lines).

- Nearly correct. But it's not only Germany, but (I believe) *all* non-US
- countries that use these two keys (don't the Brits put their pound sign
- there?). You see, all these countries use some own characters not found
- in english language or on the US keyboard, so they can make good use of
- extra keys. E.g. we in Germany have 7 extra characters, plus some accents
- for foreign words (from French mainly). So on our layout, e.g. the square
- and curly brackets are shifted to the numeric keypad to make room for
- our umlauts. Similar things happen in all other European languages.
