- Help! My little Amy's sick. First my system A-500 512 chip,512
- fast-trapdoor. GVP S-II,Quantum 52 lps-2 megs ram. Wokbench 1.3.
-
- I'm having all kinds of trouble, what I first noticed upon startup, the
- Workbench screen was shifted a bit to the right, just enough to make one of
- the front/back gadgets off the screen. Disk icons were fine, in their usual
- place. This only happened a few times and only when i booted off the
- Harddrive. Next the harddrive was having problems mounting, seems like only
- the boot partition was affected, not the other of two partitions, and this was
- only occasionally. One quirk of it though was the icons on the drive
- were available, it was just that if the program needed something else ie:
- from libs,s,c I'd get a "please insert drive DH0:". Dir listings from Disk
- Master were fine. Another problem, that seemed to occur when the drive was
- not validated and I ran a program from the drive, I'd lose all my chip
- memory. Which happened running all kinds of programs small or large, like
- running Quarterback Tools, ghost images of previous QBT menus would stay
- onscreen when selecting other menus. Finally ran QBT and it reported no
- major problems. Ran GVP memory diagnostic program-no problems, although I
- think it only checks memory on the card. I've had no unusual Guru's, but
- the system seems to lockup more than usual.
- Anyone ever having similar problems, or ANY help in curing my problems
- would be greatly appreciated!
