- Nope, AmigaDOS (R) Release 2.1 is an official release to the general public,
- at least here in the US. It was released/announced at the World of Commodore
- in Pasadena, California last summer, along with the 4000, AGA, AmigaDOS 3.0,
- and AmigaVision Pro. Effectively they released 2.1 as the 3.0 for non-AGA
- machines with 3.0 only having support for the AGA chipset and a couple other
- things that 2.1 does not have.
-
- The official release notice that I have from WOC - Pasadena states (this
- has been posted a few bizillion times since WOC - Pasadena, but here's a
- rehash..) that it has
-
- o Dynamic Localization of Programs to Different Languages and Locales
- o Includes CrossDOS for easy transfer of MS-DOS (R) and Amiga (R) files.
- o Includes PostScript (R) Printer Driver
- o Professional look, three-dimensional, point-and-click user interface
- o Updated Printer Drivers for most popular printers
- o New Preferences Editing
- o Supports Multiple Serial and Parallel Printer Preferences
- o Includes Installer and Screen Mode Requester
-
- and lots more...
-
- Ordering info:
-
- AS215 AmigaDOS Release 2.1 Software Upgrade includes
- o 6 disks
- o 3 manual set
-
- AS216 AmigaDOS Release 2.1 ROM and Software Upgrade includes
- o 2.0X ROM
- o 6 disks
- o 3 manual set
-
- (I think that they dropped down to 5 disks in the actual release..)
-
- The addresses given are for the US and Canadian divisions.
-
- So, did they release 3.0 for non-AGA machines in the UK, or what? Still
- only have 2.04 for non-AGA? Just kind of curious...
