- I may as well put my penny's worth in here.
-
- The Amiga has three problems to contend with.
-
- 1) Increasingly cheaper PC's, the Windows operating system, software to do
- anything you want (except arcade games). Can the same be said softwarewise of
- the Amiga?
-
- 2) Consoles - for games playing, a cheaper alternative to even the A600. To
- compete effectively, a drastic price cut is required. In Britain, the oncoming
- price rises don't help. I'm sure Commodore could go below 250 pounds with this
- machine, and still make a profit. The increased sales would more than offset the
- price cut - in a recession, no one is going to pay 330 pounds for an A600. And
- the A1200 should be sold at 300 pounds, not 440 pounds. It's possible, as you
- Americans already know.
-
- 3)The Amiga's image. In Britain, your average punter see's the machine as a
- games maching, and useful for nothing else - "We'll get ourselves a 486 PC, and
- little Johnny an Amiga to play games on."
-
- Buy an A2000 (or whatever it's replacement will be), save a fortune - if you've
- a need for a PC at a later stage, then buy an emulator.
-
- AND IF ONE MORE SO CALLED PERSON IN THE KNOW SAYS THE AMIGA IS NOT WORTH BUYING
- BECAUSE OF IT'S GAMES ARCHITECTURE, I'LL KICK THEIR ****ING HEAD IN!!!!
- Only Joking! :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
