  11. The system disks that come with the 2.04 AmigaDOS distribution are of
  12. the Old File System variety -- i.e. their capacity is 837K rather than
  13. the 879K which a disk formatted with the Fast File System will hold.

  15. Since I am still floppy-bound, it would be nice to have a boot disk
  16. which is FFS, but I don't know how to go about making a boot disk unless
  17. you have a bootable disk to copy (which was the technique I always used
  18. under 1.3).  The manual only says "A bootable disk is one that contains
  19. the files the Amiga needs to start operation" (p. 1-40), but that is not
  20. the whole story, obviously, because copying everything on my 2.04 boot
  21. disk onto a FFS formatted disk still results in a non-bootable disk (I
  22. didn't use DiskCopy, since that would just give me an OFS boot disk).

  24. Anyone know how to get around this?  I'd appreciate a tip in the right
  25. direction.  Post or email are both ok.
