- I posted about this before, but only got one reply, and he had the wrong
- idea about what I was trying to say:
-
- I've had an A-3000 for about 10 months now and up 'til recently have been
- using it with a 1084. Anyway, I bought a Diamondscan last month, and
- noticed an odd problem with deinterlaced output - I get an odd sort of
- jitter to the screen when things are moving or changing, sometimes. This is
- nothing to do with the smooth displacment of fields with respect to each
- other caused by the deinterlacing process itself - this is a random
- displacement of individual scan lines around parts of the screen that are
- changing color, moving or scrolling. The display is perfect when still, and
- sometimes stays that way during changes, but not usually. The effect is
- most apparent on the right edge of the screen, and the larger the changing
- area, the worse it is.
-
- I put it down to the monitor at first, since it was delivered damaged
- anyway, and returned the monitor, but since then I've tried the 3000 with a
- known-good 1960 (normally used on an A-4000), and now I have a replacement
- Diamondscan, and I get the same results. I work with many Amigas, including
- several 3000s and a 4000, as well as a few flicker-fixed 2000s, and I've
- never seen anything like this before. One test I ran produced odd results -
- I made a quick and simple animation of a box spinning and moving across the
- screen in DPaint IV, and while the program was drawing it, I observed that
- the box would get painted on the screen in perfect stability, and then it
- would madly jitter in the ~1 second before the next frame would get
- painted...
-
- Is it something I could fix by twiddling the screw in back of the machine?
- I've tried this a little but it wasn't much help.
