I bought a 1200 from Dixons that was (I think) in the first batch of amigas released( in this country anyway), having noticed the flickering on booting up
WBench (On mine the mouse pointer also flickers twixt red and green until somthing is selected), I assumed it was just cos the TV i was using it on was nearing
the end of its natural life. I then proceeded to buy a HD for my machine,
thinking nothing would go wrong with it (by then I'd owned it approx 1 month).
Today , when I booted workbench , i was greeted with a totally grey
screen, and nothing I could do could restore the colour. I think that the
modulator has broken down, and I'll be sending it back to the company who I got the HD off for a repair soon.
What is the point of this article, I hear you cry (if you havent already hit n). The fact is I think commodore rushed the 1200 out before it was ready. Lots of people here seem to be having trouble with the graphics output on
new 1200's all of which were early models (Mine came with a 600 powerpack!!!)
