  24. Ok, a friend of mine just got an 85MB Maxtor 2585AT (2.5") for his A1200
  25. and it exhibits this problem. I know I've seen it mentioned in vivid 
  26. detail on here once before, but... Can someone give me specific examples
  27. of what to do about this maxtransfer bug (with the drives, not FFS).
  28. I've looked at it on my 4000 and it's 0xFFFFFFF(?)... I'm not too handy
  29. at converting hex numbers of that size in my head. Is the default something
  30. like 16+ Megs? What do I put for 128K maxtransfer? What about 64K? Do you
  31. have to worry with making the value end at an even byte value to avoid 
  32. any slowdowns from bit shifting or anything like that? Anyone with this
  33. particular drive (it's pretty cheap compared to many) then as far as I
  34. can tell it does exhibit the above-mentioned bug. Have no idea of the
  35. firmware rev on it though. Please respond as soon as someone can, I'll
  36. be installing two of these drives in about 4 days :-) Thanks!
