- Ok, a friend of mine just got an 85MB Maxtor 2585AT (2.5") for his A1200
- and it exhibits this problem. I know I've seen it mentioned in vivid
- detail on here once before, but... Can someone give me specific examples
- of what to do about this maxtransfer bug (with the drives, not FFS).
- I've looked at it on my 4000 and it's 0xFFFFFFF(?)... I'm not too handy
- at converting hex numbers of that size in my head. Is the default something
- like 16+ Megs? What do I put for 128K maxtransfer? What about 64K? Do you
- have to worry with making the value end at an even byte value to avoid
- any slowdowns from bit shifting or anything like that? Anyone with this
- particular drive (it's pretty cheap compared to many) then as far as I
- can tell it does exhibit the above-mentioned bug. Have no idea of the
- firmware rev on it though. Please respond as soon as someone can, I'll
- be installing two of these drives in about 4 days :-) Thanks!
