- I've noticed a problem with my A1200 and want to know if anyone else
- is having the same problem... On my A1200, approx 3 minutes after
- booting up, I start getting "sparkles" on my monitor. Chunks of
- graphics info which are on the same scanline, but shifted a few inches
- to the right. The resulting lines flicker quite badly, and distort
- the display quite a bit, although only in non-standard modes
- (DBL-NTSC, productivity, Super-Hires, etc.) It looks find in normal
- NTSC/PAL resolutions.
-
- The lines appear to vanish after a few minutes, however if I then
- change the number of colours on the screen (say 8 to 256), the machine
- gurus.
-
- I figure this is a defect with one of the new chips (Alice?), and am
- going to return it early next week, however I was wondering if anyone
- else was having problems.
-
- Otherwise a great machine. I tried a few games with it (including
- Leander), and they all worked fine. I'll probably post a list later
- tommorow on a more complete selection of games.
