  19. Well, theoretically, no.  See, the point isn't to make the 3000 AGA
  20. compatible, that won't work.  Not in the way of looking EXACTLY like
  21. the 4000's map.  But it COULD be done.

  23. One could take the Lisa and Alice and put them onto a card.  Place two
  24. megabytes of 60ns page mode chip ram onto that bus.  Put logic into
  25. the system so that the RGA bus signals to other processors get eaten
  26. (which shouldn't happen, but just in case, perhaps).  Leave audio
  27. hardware as-is, and the old chipset is still there for audio
  28. processing with the Agnes/Paula pair.  The RGA bus is left in tact on
  29. the main bus, and a new graphics display exists as a ZorroIII card.
  30. Now all one must do is write a graphics device for the retargetable
  31. graphics library said to be due for 4.0.

  33. Instant AGA graphics compatibility, as long as you're using OS
  34. functions.  One could probably even map the blitter calls, but that's
  35. not the point.  RTG enables ANY graphics device to work, and the AGA
  36. card would be one of those devices.
