  11. Three days ago, I tried an ATonce emulator card
  12. on my A2000 and troubles begun. The ATonce which is one of the
  13. old versions and for the A500 but I think, it may work with A2000.
  14. (please, I'm not an idiot, I'm only crazy)

  16. I pulled out the 68000 and placed ATonce card then replaced Gary on
  17. his special socket. This socket is very simple, only there is
  18. a 1K resistors between pin 1 and pin 35. (The manual describes as;
  19. if there is a different bus master than the 68000 which takes over
  20. the system-bus, then Gary generates the DTACK signal with a little
  21. delay. This shortcut is for disable this delay.)

  23. When I turned on the machine, it froze after 30-40 sec. works.
  24. I reset it and tried 3 times more but the result didn't change.
  25. I decided that it will not work  with this model ATonce then
  26. I pulled out it and replace 68000 and Gary without socket.

  28. But when I turned on the machine, it didn't boot. The screen
  29. turned dark-gray to light-gray and waited some more then turned
  30. dark-gray again.

  32. I think my Gary burned-out. I bought a new Gary chip and
  33. replaced. When I turned on the machine it worked!
  34. I tested something like opening drawers and loading some applications
  35. but only 3-4 minute after machine froze again.
  36. I turned off and on but same symphtom appears, new Gary burned-out.

  38. Now, I could not buy another Gary until this problem is fixed.

  43. PS. The A2000 is rev. 6
  44.     It has 1.3 ROM and 1MB chip and 2MB fast RAM.
  45.     GVP series II and Maxtor HD. installed.

  47. PS2. Here (Izmir/Turkey) there is an authorized CBM service
  48.      but the technician understands about Amiga h/w not more than me!!!
  49.      (Once my old A500 had a trouble and when I went to them, they
  50.       doubled it!)
