- Hi there Ira. I'm not an expert on these things, but it sounds like your
- dealer is talking about an RF Modulator (the 40 dollar item), and a
- Genlock of some sort (the 120 dollar item). If you only need to get your
- video onto a big screen, and you aren't concerned with putting live video
- behind your Amiga GFX (or recorded video for that matter), the 40 dollar
- RF Mod will do the trick just fine. The quality is very good,
- considering the price. Infact, the quality of the RF Modulator, is just
- as good as most low-cost Genlocks you can get. I used to use an RD Mod.
- to put my presentations and animations onto video tape, but I recently
- purchased a DCTV, so it kinda made the RF Modulator obsolete. Anyway
- as I said, if you just want to put your video out through a VCR, or
- directly to a TV, the RF Modulator will do the trick for you, just as
- well as that 120 dollar Genlock thingy will. (besides, you'll get better
- compatibility, because not too many things have S-VHS in, or out. Not
- unless you're dealing with high end equipment). Hope that helps some.
