- I have heard several conflicting and confusing things about the 1200
- and I was wondering if someone could clear them up.
-
- I heard the 1200:
-
- comes with a socket/no socket (or pads) for a FPU.
- floppy model is shipping with no HD controler.
- has no internal clock.
- has pads on the board for a clock
- has a header for a clock
- has room on the back for a scsi D25
- cannot use 3.5inch ide harddrives externaly because the
- connector has the wrong number of pins.
- "" "" because the cable would be too long.
- has the HD controler as part of the custom chips.
- can use the same expansion cards as the CDTV
- Has the same trapdoor as the 500.
-
- I have heard these things from dealers, mailorder places and clubmembers.
- Some questions I have are:
-
- Are the 8520's socketed or better protected than 500/2000?
- can the ram be expanded to the same as the 4k or do the ports
- limit the amount that can be accessed.
- Is there a way to add a second HD to the 1200hd?
-
- Any correct information would be welcome. -R-
