- Hi-
- I bought a used Amiga 2000 last year, with a 20 Mb HD on a 2090A
- controller. Unfortunately, I didn't get any docs on the drive and
- controller. Now I have installed OS 2.1, and would like to add a
- block to the "bad block list" of the HD, which I have discovered.
- When I try to run HDToolBox(Kit?), all of the buttons are ghosted,
- and it prints the message "driver not installed." This seems
- funny because the HD boots just fine, and mounts both partitions
- without a glitch. The upgrade manual briefly mentions that the
- 2090A controller needs to have a "driver icon" in the Expansion
- drawer of the boot device. Perhaps this is my problem, since I
- have nothing in that drawer. But what exactly is this "driver icon"
- they mention?
- On the other hand, perhaps the HDToolBox simply doesn't grok the
- A2090A. In this case, what PD HD tools should I look for to take
- care of this drive and controller? Or is there some way I can
- immediately modify the bad block list without HDToolBox?
- Finally, the A2090A board connects to a 25-pin connector on the
- back of the Amiga. May I assume that this can be used to daisy-chain
- additional SCSI devices? If so, shouldn't I have a terminator there?
- Any help will be greatly appreciated. Respond by e-mail to:
