- Has anyone out there had a problem like the one I'm about to describe?
-
- I installed a brand-spankin' new CSA Derringer this weekend. Things went
- pretty smoothly, and everything seems to be working fine, EXCEPT that I now
- have a machine that acts very strange when displaying overscanned screens.
-
- Here's an example. If I run DPaint in overscan mode, approximately half the
- screen is blank (the right half, to be precise). By shifting the screen over,
- either with the mouse by grabbing the title bar, or by hitting CTRL-Arrow key
- to move the screen to the left, BING, the whole display returns. Other
- software exhibits the same problems, though I can work around most of them.
-
- Other things of note: I've adjusted/fooled around with the overscan settings,
- to no avail. Also, Broadcast Titler, which takes over the system and uses
- an overscanned screen, exhibits no probs whatsoever. ADPro displays some
- wierdness in the form of a display mode showing up that never did before,
- namely SuperHiRes. I do NOT have the ECS Denise installed, so I can't
- figure this one out.
-
- My configuration consists of the following:
-
- A500 with 1MEG Agnus and 1MEG CHIP activated.
- CSA Derringer with 25mhz 030 and 25mhz 881 and 4MEG 32bit RAM
-
- WB2.04
- Xetec Controller with 105meg Quantum SCSI drive.
-
- Other than the above, the machine is stone cold stock :). In other words,
- I'm not much of a hardware hacker, and I haven't done anything 'funny' with
- this machine in terms of hacking.
-
- I'm going to contact CSA about this ASAP, but I thought someone out there might
- have experienced the same thing already, and might have some suggestions.
-
- CBM people: any ideas as to what's going on?
-
- (BTW, the Xetec has been updated to current specs in order to work properly
- with accelerators.)
-
- Rambleramble,
-
- Thanks in advance for any help,
