  14. I've got a 3M MCD-40 drive that takes DC2000 tapes. If I buy them
  15. pre-formatted, I need the "Gammamat"-formatted tapes. This drive is hooked up
  16. to a Supra 4x4 Series II (v1.10) SCSI interface on an Amiga A1000 computer
  17. running AmigaDOS 1.3.

  19. I send the command to the drive as mentioned in the BTNtape docs, but it
  20. doesn't work. I think I used to get a "blank check" error back (no kidding). I
  21. think I got "illegal request" errors when I tried again the other day. I was
  22. wondering if anyone had suggestions about things to check out to get this to
  23. work. It'd be nice to be able to buy the unformatted tapes (cheaper and more
  24. easily available).

  26. Hmmm...the drive is in a box with a disc drive and is sold packaged for a Mac.
  27. I could try hooking it up to a Mac and use the provided software to format the
  28. tapes, maybe. That's a pain, though.
