- Hello!
-
- I've got a 3M MCD-40 drive that takes DC2000 tapes. If I buy them
- pre-formatted, I need the "Gammamat"-formatted tapes. This drive is hooked up
- to a Supra 4x4 Series II (v1.10) SCSI interface on an Amiga A1000 computer
- running AmigaDOS 1.3.
-
- I send the command to the drive as mentioned in the BTNtape docs, but it
- doesn't work. I think I used to get a "blank check" error back (no kidding). I
- think I got "illegal request" errors when I tried again the other day. I was
- wondering if anyone had suggestions about things to check out to get this to
- work. It'd be nice to be able to buy the unformatted tapes (cheaper and more
- easily available).
-
- Hmmm...the drive is in a box with a disc drive and is sold packaged for a Mac.
- I could try hooking it up to a Mac and use the provided software to format the
- tapes, maybe. That's a pain, though.
-
- Ideas?
