- I've been reading this newsgroup for a while now and I haven't
- seen this problem mentioned.
-
- I purchased the 2.1 upgrade kit a few days ago and attempted to
- install the package. (using the install script) Part way through
- the script, the machine took a software error. Subsequent installs
- produced the same results.
-
- I tried to boot off the 2.1 Workbench floppy with the same results.
-
- I copied the 2.1 Install disks startup-sequence file and started
- hacking up a usable boot configuration. I'm able to boot on 2.1
- from my harddrive now, but I'm unable to save any preference
- settings. (I copied the one from the Install disk)
-
- Every attempt to write the RAM: device results in a software error.
- (I think this is what blew out my install and attempted boot off
- the 2.1 Workbench floppy)
-
- Is there a patch that I need to get this working?
-
- System configuration:
- A500 (rev5 board)
- AdIDE with 52M Quantam
- A501 Memory expansion
-
- Note: I reconfigured the system back to 1.3 and had no problem
- with the RAM: device.
-
- Any help would be greatly appreciated.
