  10. Due to a rather overwhelming number of requests for information on ImageFX
  11. I'm reposting the original press release from November.

  13.                 GVP ANNOUNCES THE RELEASE OF IMAGEFX

  15. KING OF PRUSSIA, PA., November 1992.  GPV announced that ImageFX(tm) has 
  16. begun shipping.  This feature packed software package, which combines 
  17. the traditional elements of image processing and editing with high-end 
  18. special effects, allows the user to achieve stunning professional 
  19. results on any Commodore Amiga computer.

  21.    The 24-bit image manipulation features of this software allow the 
  22. user to achieve spectacular results in image creation, retouching and 
  23. editing.  ImageFX also includes the popular CineMorph(tm) package (which 
  24. is also available without ImageFX for only $149 list).  This gives the 
  25. user easy-to-use morphing capabilities, which feature the fastest 
  26. overall rendering speeds of any similar product on the market, and 
  27. produce incredible cinematic quality output.  In addition, ImageFX comes 
  28. with a wealth of image processing tools for color correction and 
  29. manipulation, image analysis, image transformation, and photographic 
  30. adjustments.

  32.    Modularity is one of the key features of the ImageFX system.  A 
  33. partial list of modules include those for scanning with the Sharp JX100 
  34. and Epson es300c scanners and displaying on the DCTV and Firecracker 
  35. 24.  New modules may be added to support additional scanners, 
  36. framegrabbers, printers and display devices.  ImageFX's unique system of 
  37. external "hook" programs provides for virtually unlimited versatility and 
  38. expansion possibilities with little effort.  Documentation for creating 
  39. the modules and hooks is freely available.

  41.    Another important feature of ImageFX is its unique system of image 
  42. memory management, which allows the user to scan images to disk and 
  43. minipulate them at very high speeds with a low memory overhead.  ImageFX 
  44. also offers extra conveniences such as image file format import and 
  45. conversion, a WYSIWYG display, and the most intuitive user interface 
  46. available.  Full ARexx support enables the videographer/photographer to 
  47. create new functions and add them to ImageFX's own menus.

  49.    Rusty Mills, an Animation Director at Warner Bros., has worked 
  50. extensively with ImageFX and has this to say about the software system, 
  51. "ImageFX is the most substantial graphics package to support 24-bit 
  52. animation on the Amiga.  The interface is more usable than almost any 
  53. software package I've used on any platform.  ImageFX is a must-have for 
  54. all graphic artists and serious animators."

  57. 1/2 MB of chip RAM and 3 MB of fast RAM.
