- I've been trying to convert some FL[IC] animations to IFF ANIM
- format, and have run into some trouble with the reltime field in
- ANHD chunks. The description of the field from the docs on Fish
- disk #185 is:
-
- $ ULONG reltime (timing for frame relative to time
- $ previous frame was displayed - in
- $ jiffies (1/60 sec))
-
- Which sounds like a player should wait reltime jiffies before
- displaying the current frame. I made up an animation that
- displays the numbers 1 2 3 4 5 in sequence, with a 30 jiffy
- reltime value for the frame displaying the 3. From the section of
- the docs above, I was expecting the animation to pause when the
- 2 was displayed. So, I tried the various players I've got:
-
- RTAP - looked like it was going to crash
- MoviePRO - didn't pause at all :)
- biganim - paused on the 2
- ShowANIM 5.7x-02 - paused on the 3
- View 3.2 - paused on the 3
-
- FLI files handle pauses by using a sequence of empty frames out to
- whatever length is desired. Is that the correct way to go? It
- seems like a waste when the reltime field does exist for such
- things. What do other animation programs think?
-
- The test animation is brief... so here it is.

- Also, I'm still looking for specs to the Italian DL animation
