- Jesus, you have no idea what you're talking about. In a country where
- releases are slow or most software houses are INCOMPETENT, there is NO WAY
- you can get current games except if you mail order, and then you have no
- idea what the f*ck the games look like. The unfortunate truth is that
- sometimes pirated games are BETTER and give you MORE than the commercial
- shit... For example Zool, where the pirated version is HD installation and
- the orig is not.
-
- So what are the alternatives if you want to get the new releases FAST?? I
- for one wouldn't be willing to wait 12 months after all the pirates have
- finished playing the game to get the f*cking piece of shit software that
- probably isn't worth $2, let alone $60!! Mail order is just as bad as the
- game could be a heap of shit and I WOULDN'T KNOW!!!
-
- The most palatable alternative is to look at the pirated copy as a demo,
- and if it is worth it, wait for or mail order the released game. I am not
- saying I do it, but I fully understand the attitudes of unwilling pirates
- WOULDN'T pirate if they have a better alternative to doing it...

- Gahh, it is a totally different situation and you know it. If the
- restaurant said give me your money and two months later gives you the food
- would you still pay for it?? The analogy is not accurate, but then again,
- neither is yours. And what's wrong with complaining if the food simply
- isn't good enough anyway? You just cannot compare these two things as the
- situation isn't the same...

-
- Oh yeah... in this case, YOU would be telling your boss "I know you need
- my services NOW, but I'm not coming to work until 6 months later"...
-
- TELL ME you would still hire a dickhead with that kinda attitude....
-
- J> My guess is that you'd have a bit different attitude about "FREE
- J> TRIALS"!
-
- If software companies had a different attitude about DISTRIBUTION and
- SERVICE and PRODUCTION QUALITY, like HD installable games so you don't have
- to hack their games in the first place, and also REASONABLY PRICED games,
- then pirates wouldn't exist in the first place.
-
- What is required is for them to product CD-ROM games that are AT LEAST 100
- mb long EACH, that would seriously fuck up the cost benefit ration of
- piracy versus purchase. Tell me pirates would seriously consider using 90
- disks to copy games and fill up their Hard drives and you are truly
- deluded...
-
- I mean, imagine the RSI cases it would result in! :-)
