- I have had some troubles with my host, and after putting a serial port
- tracer on the connection I found that the CRC sent with the data is pure
- 8 bit binary (possibly filtered for Xon/Xoff). If your connection is
- via some server like Vista, you are bound to hit the local escape
- character eventually. In my case a Vista firmware upgrade screwed up
- the raw mode switching causing it to go into local mode. The cure was
- to Set Port Local None, since VLT will send a break that gets you to
- local mode.
