  30. We are working on preferences printing. We are unable to crash AE when
  31. printing to preferences, but have had several reports of this. At this
  32. point, we can only recommend the following: set the paper size in prefs
  33. to the same size as the page size in AE. Set scaling to integer. We
  34. hope to have more information and improved preferences printing in the
  35. near future.

  37. Saving / loading DR2D: that is fixed in AE 1.02 which will be mailed
  38. free of charge to all registered AE 1.0 and 1.01 owners starting
  39. next week.

  41. Coordinates freeze with Draw tool: fixed AE1.02.

  43. Freehand tool, Esc key doesn't work: that is a new bug, thanks for
  44. reporting it. We'll try to get that fixed in the next version after
  45. 1.02.

  47. Pie slice requester and different font: new bug. I'll put on list.

  49. Sliders: that is not a strange lack of sliders, in our opinion. Sliders
  50. are inappropriate interface gadgets for the situations you mentioned.
  51. (i.e., polygon number of sides.) We hope to use popup menus (like in
  52. the HotLinks Publish requester.) Popup menus and cycle gadgets are
  53. a superior way to do this, but cycle gadgets shouldn't be used for
  54. more than 2 or 3 choices, so popup menus should be used.

  56. Sample graphics: shipping duplicated the HotLinks Editions version
  57. of BME instead of the Art Expression version of BME (the AE one
  58. has the sample graphics, but the program is the same) by mistake
  59. for a few copies of 1.01. If you want these graphics, please call
  60. tech support or email us (CIS 76004,1676, GEnie SL-TECH) and we
  61. will send you a replacement disk. (You must be registered.)

  63. Add point: it is senseless to add a button to the toolbox for this
  64. when adding a point is so simple (Alt click on path). Using a tool
  65. for this would make the toolbox prettier, but would decrease the
  66. functionality of the program.

  68. Grouping: our user testing showed that grouping is better accomplished
  69. via the keyboard. If you can have one hand on the mouse and the other
  70. on the keyboard, it is easier to hit 'g' than to choose a tool. Most
  71. professionals and beginners find that constant trips to the toolbox
  72. slow down work. Totally iconic interfaces (like on German Atari
  73. programs) are not the way to go.
