- (Perhaps this should be forwarded into csa.datacomm? I have no clue how to
- do that, so I'll let wiser heads go for it.)
-
- I've been using XComm 1.00 for a couple of hours now. I haven't seen any of
- the bugs that you have just reported (but, then again, my setup and needs
- are much different from yours, I'm sure.)
-
- First off, and most importantly to me, XComm handles Zmodem xfering
- flawlessly, unlike Term2.4(a) (using the EXACT SAME ZMODEM LIB!) This got my
- immediate and undivided attention.
-
- Secondly, I've switched through various emulations while online, and have
- iconified and quit/restarted Xcomm with absolutely no problems. Not a single
- guru yet (knock on silicon.)
-
- The macro-editor has worked flawlessly sofar, and I had no problems
- configuring common macros such as default username-send and password-send
- (easily accessable by using the %u and %p symbols when configuring. Yay!
- Great feature, Ed&Bill.)
-
- I'm calling my unix account on XComm now, using the VT340 emulation, and
- sofar, I'm extremely impressed. Now, if someone could convert $45 in
- Australian money to USFunds, I'll know how much it costs to register the
- sucker.
-
- To sum up: the previous few posters have encountered many bugs and gurus
- while using XComm. I'm running an A2000 (2.04Roms) with very little running
- in the background, and I've had absolutely no problems. I have a feeling
- that, since it is the first public release of XComm, that it will be
- relatively unstable on some machines, as the previous two posters have
- mentioned, but luckily, it has been peachy for me sofar!
-
- Regards, Guy
