  14.     I have a few questions about the usage of Emacs 1.26 (the
  15. implementation of 18.58) on an Amiga 3000 with 6megs of RAM and a 52 meg HD. I
  16. can get the basic program to work correctly, i.e. I can load files in, edit
  17. them, save em back out, edit preferences, etc. I have a question concerning
  18. the usage of the M-x-run... commands. This includes LISP, ProLog, dired, and a
  19. couple of other things. Under the Unix system I use, things like LISP and
  20. dired ran more or less as advertised. Now, after getting fifo.library and
  21. Fifo-Handler (Matt Dillon) I wanted to see if I could use these things on the
  22. Amiga version. Unfortunetely, I keep getting the error message
  23. "vfork-insufficient memory" or something like that. I know I have enough
  24. memory (is 3.5 megs free enough?) so there must be something wrong with my
  25. setup. Either that, or lisp and dired are separarte emacs applications that do
  26. not exist yet for the Amiga port. (if I recall, I believe that M-x-run-lisp is
  27. not supported yet, but dired is). There was no real troubleshooting guide
  28. other than the one in the installation doc, so I was wondering if anyone knew
  29. what was happening.
