- Why use a computer for anything?
-
- There are pens and paper, typewriters, playing cards, board games, paint,
- dictionaries, pianos, cameras, etc, etc, etc. All of these tools existed
- before the computer did, and most of them still continue to sell.
-
- People use it because they *WANT* to. I could say "Why play computer games? I
- use my imagination!" Or "Why use a calculator? I do it in my head (or with
- pen and paper)." Or "Why use a word processing package? Learn to type, spell
- and draw. It's more personally rewarding." ;-)
-
- The truth be told: I have no imagination, cannot spell to save my life, and
- don't want any personally rewarding enriching experiences. ;-) So I use a
- computer for *LOTS* of things.
