- Someone who needs educating about the arc!
-
- First neither the a2 or A3 exist.
- An A4 exists so called because it is the size of an A4 sheet (a portable)
-
- There are also A300, A400, A500, A3000, A4000, A5000 series computers which are
- or have been availiable from acorn.
-
- Yes the arc can do an excellent software emulation of a PC, but as yet no 68K
- emulation with OS's.
-
- Because Apple use the same architecture running in there Newton they reportedly
- had an ARM (the CPU) computer running MAC OS.
-
- The latest video controller chip was released a month ago which has a 24 bit
- pallette but as yet acorn hasn't launched a computer with that in. The first
- computer to incorporate that will probably be a new A540.
-
- Two companies, State machine and Computer Concepts manufacture expansion cards
- which contain an Inmos device to allow 24 bit colour on the GUI.
-
- Richard.
