  20. Senior Scientist, Speech Coding
  21. Requires MS or Ph.D in electrical engineering with minimum of 10 years  
  22. experience in design and implementation of speech compression algorithms  
  23. for telecommunications and consumer electronics products. 
  24. Responsibilities include:
  25. * Formulation of novel speech compression algorithms at bit rates below 16  
  26. kbps
  27. * High-Level (using C-language) and CAD-based (COSSAP, WAVES) simulation  
  28. of speech coding algorithms
  29. * Objective and subjective evaluation of low bit-rate speech coders
  30. * Real-time implementation of speech coding algorithms on general-purpose  
  31. DSP chips (TI TMS family, AT&T DSP1600) 
  32. * Design of processor architectures for custom implementation of speech  
  33. compression algorithms
  34. * Analysis of standard (CCITT, TIA, ETSI) speech coding algorithms for  
  35. low-power implementation on custom DSP architectures
  36.  
  37. DSP Application Engineer
  38. Requires BS/MS in Electrical Engineering with minimum of 5 years of  
  39. product development experience in wireless or consumer electronics  
  40. industries. Sales engineering experience and knowledge of Japanese  
  41. language highly desirable.

  44. * Assembly-level DSP software development
  45. * Design and construction of DSP-based hardware prototypes
  46. * Consult with customers' engineers to assure compliance with customers's  
  47. needs and specifications
